December 8th – The cold behind the door

From December 8th to the 24th, 2025, we will take you where no one wants to look: behind closed doors, beyond the smiles of circumstance, into the beating heart of human relationships.

December 8th – The cold behind the door

THIS DECEMBER, LOOK BEYOND THE LIGHTS.

From December 8th to the 24th, 2025, we will take you where no one wants to look: behind closed doors, beyond the smiles of circumstance, into the beating heart of human relationships.

17 Days. 17 Stories. A single common thread.

Forget Christmas fairy tales. We will tell you the reality: the tension rising on Christmas Eve, the C-PTSD hiding behind a gift, the emotional dysregulation that turns a toast into a nightmare. But we will also tell you about hope.

Every day a story, every story a scientific truth. You will discover how the ASVS protocol, trauma measurement, and Biofeedback can rewrite an ending that seemed already written.

These are not just stories. They are mirrors in which to recognize oneself and tools to save oneself.

The journey begins on December 8th. Prepare to change your vision of Christmas.

AIPC & CIPR On the side of science, on the side of people.

December 8th – The cold behind the door

Milan is wrapped in a dense, milky fog that seems to penetrate even through the double glazing of the living room, muffling the sounds of the festive city. In the third-floor apartment, Giorgio, 68, arranges the green cloth on the card table with slow, precise gestures. It is a sacred ritual, a fixed appointment for the holiday weekend with Claudio, the friend of a lifetime, the "acquaintance" one trusts blindly, the one who has the spare keys.

Yet, tonight, the silence of the house is broken only by the obsessive ticking of the grandfather clock in the hallway, which seems to mark a countdown. Giorgio feels a knot in the pit of his stomach, an ancient, visceral signal that his rational mind desperately tries to stifle: "It's just a game, it's just Claudio, we've known each other for thirty years." But there is that old money issue pending, that loan never repaid that has rotted in silence for months between one coffee and another, creating an invisible fault line in their friendship.

When the doorbell rings, the sound is shrill, violent. Giorgio stands up, his legs heavy. He doesn't know that on the other side of the door is not his lifelong friend, but a man in the grip of total emotional dysregulation, where repressed anger has by now shut down the prefrontal cortex, leaving command to the most archaic instincts. On the table, next to the panettone and walnuts, lies a long-bladed knife. It is not there to kill; it is there to cut the cake. But in a split second, in a context of betrayed intimacy and fragile boundaries, the everyday object will become the instrument of an irreversible fate that no statistic will ever be able to erase.

LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCT. If you feel that tension is spiraling out of control, do not open that door. Prevention starts with reading the weak signals. The CIPR in Pescara and Rome can help you.
