INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT – SAVE THE DATE Rome, February 13, 2026

International Summit: Dal C-PTSD alla Pet Therapy: percorsi integrati di regolazione emotiva nei casi di violenza. Roma, 13 febbraio 2026. Ore 15:00 –

INTERNATIONAL SUMMIT – SAVE THE DATE Rome, February 13, 2026 | 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM SALA TEVERE, Regione Lazio – Via C. Colombo, 212

FROM C-PTSD TO PET THERAPY: INTEGRATED PATHWAYS FOR EMOTIONAL REGULATION A high-level panel for the assessment of complex trauma and violent relational dynamics.

The Italian Association of Psychology and Criminology (AIPC), the Italian Center for Relational Psychotraumatology (CIPR), and Hakuna Matata (Psychotherapy & Pet Therapy), in collaboration with Medea Odv, present an international summit dedicated to the frontiers of relational psychotraumatology.

Target Audience

The event is designed for:

  • Psychological field: Graduates and students in psychology, psychologists, psychotherapists, and psychotherapists in training.
  • Social and legal field: Social workers, sociologists and students, lawyers, and legal trainees.
  • Law enforcement and anti-violence: Law enforcement officers, workers from anti-violence centers (CAV), and workers from perpetrator rehabilitation centers (CUAV).

Scientific focus

The event will explore Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD) and how traumatic biographies affect an individual's ability to remain within their window of tolerance. The summit will explore the contributions of Thanos Karatzias and the research conducted by CIPR and AIPC.

Key panel topics

  • Clinical risk assessment: Implementation of the ASVS Protocol for risk assessment from a clinical (rather than social) perspective, alongside the profiling of family homicides and femminicidio based on the degree of familiarity.
  • Physiological monitoring: Utilization of Biofeedback to monitor emotional dysregulation and the loss of impulse control.
  • Advanced interventions: Analysis of the efficacy of TfCBT, EMDR, and the new ESTAIR approach (Enhanced Training in Affective & Interpersonal Regulation).
  • Pet therapy: A primary strategy to promote self-regulation and the recovery of the window of tolerance, facilitating trauma recovery.

Why attend?

Understanding that severe acting-out is often the result of an extremely narrow window of tolerance is fundamental for preventing violence and recidivism. The summit provides concrete tools to transform assessment into accurate clinical profiling.

FREE ENTRY. REGISTRATION MANDATORY. A CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION WILL BE ISSUED.
